During
2002-03 I painted a series of small and large abstract landscapes
using matt backgrounds at the top and bottom and glossy, layered
middle parts. These works look great on a large scale The concept
is of a camera shutter opening and closing in an instant of time
to record the image. The matt is peaceful and quiet. When I close
my eyes, I cannot hear the sea or the wind without my hearing
aids. When I open my eyes I can see the sounds of the sea.
I
want to look into my soul and search for inner meaning through
the exploration of different personal experiences. Paintings contain
the language and emotions of the artist's creative processes,
reduced and confined from the mental images and inner characteristics
of the individual.
